- Dispense medications to students and document time, date, and any other required information in SIS each time medicine is given to a student.
- Document all illness/injury by entering it into the SIS. Communicate with parent/guardian. Fill out accident report when appropriate.
- Provide head checks for pediculosis (head lice).
- Assist with vision and hearing screenings, as needed.
- Approve all Emergency Medical Forms and update as necessary in the SIS.
- Compile a Field Trip Book with copies of the Emergency Medical Forms.
- Enter immunizations in the SIS when needed.
- Assist the school nurse in determining the health status of students by means of a health appraisal and involve the district nurse as necessary.
- Assist the school nurse/building principal in all facets of maintaining health and safety in the building.
- Maintain professional decorum at all times, including orderly conduct of students,
- Attend all meetings and in-services required by supervisors.
- Serve as a role model for students.
- Perform other such duties as may be directed by the principal or department supervisor
