    Transaction Advisory Services - Senior Analyst


    Dean Dorton, one of the largest and most acclaimed certified public accounting and business advisory firms in the Ohio Valley, Southeast and Midwest, has an opportunity for a Transaction Advisory Services Senior Analyst to join our team.

    Position DescriptionAs a Senior Analyst in the Transaction Advisory Services consulting practice, you will work closely with other team members in providing financial due diligence for lower middle-market US and international businesses.

    The Transaction Advisory Services practice offers our clients assistance with M&A activities, buy-side due diligence, sell-side due diligence, and working capital assistance.

    You'll be focused on analyzing financial data and identifying key trends behind the performance of a business, discussing business performance and forecast assumptions with team management, and helping to write reports that set out our findings and recommendations around the key financial and business issues in a transaction.


    What You'll Be Doing:


    Perform (as part of a team) financial due diligence for clients who are acquiring businessesAnalyzing quality of earnings and non-recurring itemsUnderstanding key business drivers that impact reported profitabilityPrepare detailed financial analysis to help clients evaluate their acquisition decisions and financing requirementsAnalyze financial and operational results of businesses to be acquired or sold through reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management.

    Participates in client meetings and site visits while interacting with top-level management to obtain pertinent information for financial analysisInteracts with the other functional areas of the practice including tax, audit and other consulting practicesAnalyzing historical financial and operating results of target companies to explain business trends and identify risksEvaluating the quality of historical earnings and net assetsUnderstanding critical assets and liabilities included in balance sheets of target companiesAnalyzing the working capital requirements of the target companiesChallenging assumptions related to future financial projectionsInteracting extensively with personnel of the target companies and the clientPreparing due diligence reports outlining analyses and findingsDevelop professional network and relationships with firm, client and target professionalsWhat We Are Looking For


    Bachelor or Master of Science/Business Administration in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 1 year related public accounting or finance work experienceCPA or CPA eligible3-5 years of experience working in professional servicesStrong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated leadership experience and strong personal integrityAbility to master new tasks quicklyStrong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and common database systemsAbility to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environmentDemonstrated commitment to obtaining outstanding resultsFlexibility to travel, as neededExcellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communitiesExperience working with diverse teamsDean Dorton is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
