Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 11pm - 7am, Rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

Inspect, assemble and evaluate all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.

Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
Inspect instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
All other duties as assigned.
Perform all required quality assurance tests on equipment and maintain daily records.
Assemble and maintain specific surgical instruments utilized throughout the facility.
Function as SPD/OR Liaison as required.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Certified Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience:

One year of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

Must be willing to undergo a flexible training for Sterile Processing with the anticipation of completing CRCST certification within 12 months of hire.
Certification and/or surgical services experience preferred
