- Analyze the data requirements and specifications of various projects and applications.
- Develop and test SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions for data manipulation and retrieval.
- Monitor and tune the performance, availability, security, and reliability of the databases and applications.
- Profile server resource usage and optimize and tweak per best practices.
- Perform data backup, recovery, migration, and integration tasks.
- Document and maintain the database structure, code, and processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other developers and users.
- Research and evaluate new database technologies and trends.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining databases and applications.
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications.
- Capable of troubleshooting common database issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for presenting solutions to both technical and business audiences.
- Proficiency with MS SQL Server
- Ability to write and optimize in-application SQL statements.
- Skilled at optimizing large, complicated SQL statements.
- Design and maintain MS Reports (SSRS)
- Design and maintain MS Integration packages (SSIS)
- Job Scheduling and Monitoring
- Knowledgeable of SQL Linked Services and Replication
- Working knowledge of application development life cycle
- Working knowledge with Version Control Tools such as DevOps, Git, SVN
- Experience with MS Visual Studio and building Business Integrations (SSIS packages)
- Experience with building RESTful APIs through use of MS Visual Studio or other third-party application
- Working knowledge of Postman or Insomnia
- Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases and application development.
