    FULL STACK DEVELOPER

    Location: Flexible and in any state where the firm has an office.


    Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a national law firm, currently has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Full Stack Developer.

    Position Summary:


    As a member of our IT Operations team, we are seeking a talented and creative Full Stack Developer to play a key role in shaping our technological landscape.

    You will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from designing user-friendly interfaces to building robust back-end systems.

    Your expertise will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions for our client portals, internal applications, and integrations with legal research databases.


    Essential Functions Include:


    • Design, develop, and implement web applications using a variety of front-end and back-end technologies.
    • Collaborate with designers and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into functional and user-friendly applications.
    • Develop and maintain clean, well-documented, and secure code.
    • Write and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web applications.
    • Maintain and contribute to a version control system (e.g., Git) for code repository management, including effective branching strategies, pull requests, code review practices and documentation.
    • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate code building, testing, and deployment.
    • Design and implement database structures to store and manage application data.
    • Integrate with third-party APIs, including legal research databases.
    • Stay current with emerging web development technologies and best practices.
    • Deploy and maintain web applications on a secure server environment.
    • Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
    • Work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Adhere to all company coding standards and security protocols.
    • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

    Qualifications and Prior Experience:


    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
    • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
    • Solid understanding of back-end development concepts and experience with server-side programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, .NET).
    • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
    • Familiarity with web development APIs, legal industry specific technologies and APIs (e.g., legal research databases, legal case management systems) and integration techniques.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Familiarity with security best practices for legal data and applications (e.g., data encryption, access control).
    • An understanding of legal terminology and workflows would be a plus.
