- Directs the daily activities of employees working in the plant.
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Be a safety leader and drives housekeeping efforts
- Ensures production equipment is routinely inspected for defects, with corrective action as necessary.
- Creates weekly schedules to meet production needs.
- Carries out regular updates to appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance test databases and spreadsheets and provides report summaries or analyses as needed.
- Carries out ongoing lab and field sampling. Testing to ensure that material produced and shipped meets State, project, and customer specifications and expectations.
- Understands and works within Union labor
- Proper reporting on accidents/incidents
- Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards (ASTM, CSA, MQO, internal targets, and limits)
- Follow-up on out-of-spec material and corrective actions
- Provide "troubleshooting" guidance and advice, for various customers both internal and external.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills coupled with an understanding of unions, planning, scheduling, and people management ability.
- Previous supervisor experience preferred.
- Experience championing safety culture; demonstrable understanding of working safely with heavy equipment and energy sources
- Ability to recognize production problems and the experience to solve those problems
- Experience with quality sample testing preferred.
- Experience meeting production goals while maintaining the integrity of the safety program.
- Needs to have a basic working knowledge of several of the following: electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, and conveyors.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim-approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
