This a 1.0 FTE wellness (physical education and health education position)

Essential Duties:

Establish and maintain standards for student behavior that create a healthy, safe, and enjoyable learning environment. Use traumasensitive approaches to ensure student safety.
Continuously examines programming for cultural competency and implements equitable experiences for all students.
Plan, organize and deliver lessons aligned with the Physical Education National Standards and Grade-Level Outcomes for students in grades K
Provide appropriate safety instruction and provide safety checks on equipment, gymnasium, and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
Implement authentic assessments to determine student growth and effectively communicate feedback and data to students, parents, administration, and the community, as necessary.
Implement age and developmentally appropriate health education program that utilizes skillsbased instruction and meets the needs of all students.
Incorporate a variety of instructional methods, technology, and media best suited for health education and physical education content and skills.
Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Additional Duties:

Participate in professional growth opportunities.
Attend and participate in department and curriculum development meetings.
Optional stipended intramural/extramural programming and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Mass. DESE License in Health and Consumer Sciences or Physical Education.
