- Plan and facilitate effective, differentiated lessons and in-depth investigations in reading, writing, handwriting, word study, math, inquiry, science, and social studies

- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence
- Supervise students during recess and other non-class times
- Develop, plan, and supervise off-campus field experiences
- Participate fully in the life of the school
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lower School Head Additional Selection Criteria for Prospective Teachers
- Experience with teaching phonics and Reading and Writing Workshop
