    HVAC Manager

    FS Maintenance Services

    Position Overview

    The University of Kansas is in search of an experienced HVAC Manager with expertise in HVAC operations and team management for the Lawrence Campus. The role involves overseeing the servicing of HVAC systems in commercial and residential settings, effectively utilizing resources to prioritize customer satisfaction. Collaboration with university leaders for HVAC installations and maintenance is a key aspect, including on-site support and coordination with external contractors.

    Work hours:

    • 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday
    • Potential availability for emergency work

    Job Description

    35% - HVAC System Management

    • Ensure HVAC system reliability across the Lawrence campus
    • Manage preventive maintenance operations
    • Plan maintenance, repairs, and replacements

    20% Supervision

    • Lead and develop HVAC team members
    • Ensure safety compliance
    • Maintain Building Automation Systems

    20% - Cost Management

    Handle cost accounting, time reporting, and purchasing activities for data-driven decisions

    10% - Project Oversight

    • Review and coordinate HVAC projects
    • Ensure efficiency and reliability

    10% - Communication

    Collaborate with stakeholders for effective HVAC system operations

    5% - Other Responsibilities

    Position Requirements

    • Physical ability to lift heavy loads
    • Work in varying temperatures
    • Available during inclement weather and emergencies

    Required Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 5 years of HVAC maintenance experience
    • 3 years of supervisory experience
    • Proficiency in HVAC automation systems and MS Office
    • Communication skills and relevant certifications

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with HVAC automation systems
    • Knowledge of CMMS and safety measures
    • Background in Mechanical Engineering

    Review of applications will start on March 29th.

    Salary: Starting at $85,000

    Start Date: April 15, 2024

    Campus: University of Kansas Lawrence Campus

    Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with potential emergency availability
