Description
The Division of Perioperative and Surgical Services is seeking an
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a team of five advanced practice providers, along with eleven spine and pain physicians, to provide primary assessment and care to patients with spine/ pain disorders. The APP will also support residents and fellows. This is a growing, very busy tertiary care setting where the APP will meet with and assess new and follow up patients, and refer appropriately to the surgical team. This position works within a truly integrated environment with specialties in orthopaedics, spine and pain care. Some operating room support may be required. The ideal candidate will have experience in Orthopaedics, spine and pain care, or another surgical specialty and be able to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.At the direction of the Section Chief, the APP will provide health care including the assessment of physical and psychosocial status, health history, physical examination and diagnostic tests, interpretation of data, implementation of therapeutic plans and follow-through as needed, and progress notes. The APP will also provide health education and counseling to patients and/or family members and assist with the integration of care by other providers and make appropriate referrals to other services as indicated.This is a full-time, salaried, benefited position. This position schedule is five, eight-hour day shifts per week, with the possibility of a four, ten-hour day schedule. An academic appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.
