    Advanced Practice Providers in the Endocrinology Department are clinicians who provide clinical care for patients admitted to Catholic Medical Center.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Endocrinology Advanced Practice Providers will engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional responsibility within the Department.

    Patient care activities will include, but are not be limited to:


    • Provide inpatient consultations Monday through Friday, 8 AM-4PM, with the expectation of completing consults within 24 hours, and stat consults within working hours, with the expectation of responding within one hour.
    • Provide weekend call for critical need consults only.
    • Expertise in managing insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring and diabetes management, comfortable caring for post-surgical cardiac and bariatric patients, and OB/GYN endocrine specialty needs.
    • Direct contact and consultation with patients and when permitted, with family members,
    friends, advocates, and others to ensure effective communication of patient status and care

    plans.


    • Appropriate and on-going communications with hospital medicine physicians and care team who routinely manage the care of patients currently in the hospital.
    • Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to
    assure optimal patient care and compliance with local, state and federal regulatory, licensure

    and accreditation requirements.


    • Work to create a positive work culture within cross-departmental teams and align this work
    with other Hospital Medicine initiatives.


    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    Education:
    Minimum requirements APRN or PA-C license and a Federal DEA registration.


    Experience:
    Two years' experience practicing in Endocrinology preferred and/or Endocrinology Fellowship preferred.


    Degrees, Licensure and/or Certification:


    Advanced Practice Provider will maintain a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Hampshire, federal and state prescriptive authority, and will obtain and maintain board certification.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Clinical training and skills as mandated by respective APRN or PA-C board
    • Ability to work with electronic medical records
    • Ability to work with others in a cooperative, collaborative manner
    and within a cross-cultural situation

    • Strong written and oral communication skills
