JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for handling front office reception and clerical duties in a medical clinic including greeting visitors (patients and others), patient check in/out, answering phones, preparing schedules, clinic opening and closing procedures and otherwise ensuring contributing to the smooth running and positive environment of the clinic.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet/welcome every patient.
- Patient check in duties
- Patient check out duties
- Update/verify patient information.
- Maintain the smooth flow of communication between patient, provider, medical assistant, and all clinic staff.
- Provide assistance/information to patients as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of all common patient areas
- Schedule preparation
- Payment collection and documentation as required.
- Documentation of money kept in office.
- Appointment scheduling for multiple services
- All opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Follow HIPAA regulations as directed.
- Follow all policies and procedures as written with integrity and honesty.
- Create an environment in the workplace which coincides with the values and mission statement of Pain Doctor
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous Customer service experience
Skills:
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in highpressure situations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
- Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficient in the use of EHR systems

- Ability to attend to details ensuring accuracy in a timely manner.
- Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively.

Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to occasional stand/walk
- Ability to assist patients as needed with walking, sitting, reading, and writing.
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 30 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Tolerate a moderate noise level at all times.
