Description

The Personal Injury/Lien Coordinator is the point person for all Personal Injury cases that are treated at the Clinic and ASC reporting to the company's Vice President and General Counsel.

This individual will act as the liaison between the patient's case manager, attorney, and the clinic/ASC Staff.

The Lien Coordinator is responsible for providing documentation and billing ledgers, corresponding with the lien manager, and ensuring constant flow of communication with attorney phone calls and inquiries with the goal of acting as an advocate for the patient to receive recommended treatment.

We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills, professional verbiage, and outstanding organization.

The PI Administrator will establish close working relationships with each clinic, as the PI Administrator is the pioneer for patients getting the necessary care to provide them with relief from their accident.

This position has no direct reports.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicates with the Finance and Billing team to provide documentation on cases.
  • Communicates with the attorney's offices, patients, and clinics for followup care.
  • Reviews patient accounts/ledgers for accuracy.
  • File lien for treatment. Close all lien cases that have settled.
  • Release all lien cases through notification to the attorney's offices.
  • Communicates with the patient and their attorney regarding their case, satisfy all requests for information.
  • Send/request medical records and billing statements.
  • Negotiate reduction requests.
  • Develop positive relationships with personal injury attorneys.
  • Continue monitoring of all active cases, from cradle to grave.
  • Maintain and monitor active cases.
  • Identify, communicate, track, and analyze all business issues related to personal injury best practices.
  • Resolve any unresolved issues relating to case followup.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding

  • Two to four years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED with equivalent work experience managing personal injury cases.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

  • Previous experience in medical billing/collections.
  • Familiar with insurance payments and lien guidelines.
