    Summary:


    This position requires a Certified MSHA Instructor who will work in the field and visit multiple project sites, with frequent travel required.

    Employees may be assigned to a single project as needed.

    The primary responsibilities include performing safety inspections, coaching, training, and collaborating with the Power Team to plan for upcoming work.

    The ideal candidate will have a Board of Certified Safety Professionals certification, such as CHST or higher, and a MIN number.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction and shop work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, client, local, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.

    Identify, document and recommend resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.

    Prepare supporting documentation of all safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintain safety equipment supply and availability.

    Coordinate with field supervision to identify areas of significant interest and establish inspection frequency.
    Prepare documents and reports utilizing company established field safety inspection reporting formats and programs.
    Coordinate with field supervision to ensure adequate safety supplies are maintained and purchased for all areas as needed.
    Assist in investigations of personal injury and property damage accidents.

    Compile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidents.

    Issue various permits (i.e., to confined spaces) as required.
    Assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance walk-through tours. May accompany federal, state, local and insurance inspectors on walk-through tours.
    Assist with new hire onboarding and employee training.

    Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations and identify all requirements that apply or may apply.


    Requirements:
    Must be able to work in all kinds of weather and walk and stand for long periods.
    Must have strong communication and leadership skills.
    Ability to manage workload effectively including plan, coordinate, organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks.
    Ability to use good judgment to make decisions.
    Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
    Must be a Certified MSHA Instructor.

    Education and Credentials:
    Bachelor's Degree in safety related field
    5 years of safety experience in construction industry and
    ASP or GSP certification and
    CHST certification

    OR
    if No Degree
    10 years of safety experience in construction industry and
    OSHA 500
    CHST certification

    Compensation:
    Salary will be based on a combination of experience, education, and credentials.
    Per diem or travel expenses will be provided.
    Company truck for company use will be provided.
    401K, medical, dental, vision, supplemental benefits included.

    Safety Considerations:
    Typically works 8-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week in extreme hot and cold environments after acclimatization.
    Wears all required personal protective equipment on a daily basis.
    May be required to work on variable terrain in the performance of duties.
    Required to operate a motor vehicle.
    Routinely lifts/carries up to 50 pounds unassisted.
    Uses field test equipment that requires manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
    May be required to enter confined and/or enclosed spaces where respiratory protective equipment is required.
