This position is supporting their DOT (Dept of Transportation) Compliance, Pipeline Safety and Quality Group. This person will work with regulatory agencies (those agencies observe the pipeline work we do and provide documentation on whether there are compliance issues with the work.

Sometimes violations are technical in nature and the person will have to understand design systems and be able to interpret documentation and calculations (where the engineering piece comes in).

This person will be the technical liaison between the regulatory officials and the business units for WGL lots of documentation and presenting skills required.

Addressing issues that regulatory officials are bringing up surrounding compliance of the pipeline
Providing solutions after working with the business to ensure they are meeting compliance regulations
Reviewing the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 191 and 192 related to transportation of hazardous materials

Bachelors degree in Engineering field from accredited school
4+ years of professional experience in utility related field handling communication with regulatory officials - process engineering, compliance, reviewing codes and standards
Knowledge of CFR
Strong written and verbal communication
