    **Description**

    **Major Responsibilities**

    Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors. May be required to operate a power scrubber to clean floors.

    Removes and disposes trash from all areas. Breaks down and bundles carton boxes for recycling; places boxes in compactor.

    Cleans common areas, including tables, chairs, countertops, drinking fountains, doors, windows (inside and outside), refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, and eye wash stations. Uses cleansers and machinery in a safe manner according to manufacturers specifications.

    Understands and demonstrates Essendants Core Values.

    Sweeping aisles and detail cleaning.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    **Skills/Knowledge Required**

    Ability to perform all required tasks in the function according to established safety rules and guidelines.

    Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and controlled manner.

    Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner, following all safety rules and guidelines.

    Ability to understand simple directions (verbal and written) in English.

    **Education and Experience**

    High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

    Janitorial/custodial experience preferred.
