    Description

    The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist oversees environmental, health, and safety compliance, training, and program management.

    Ensures facility compliance with regulatory requirements, both current and upcoming, and company standards.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure awareness of regulatory requirements among management and operational staff.
    • Develop processes to identify, assess, and manage workplace hazards.
    • Provide and monitor training to meet OSHA standards.
    • Establish and maintain OSHA compliance programs.
    • Offer industrial hygiene support for evaluating workplace health risks.
    • Lead the creation and implementation of new environmental initiatives.
    • Aid in launching new health and safety programs.
    • Manage air, water, and waste compliance activities including DOT regulations.
    • Maintain chemical inventory records to meet tracking standards.
    • Conduct staff training on environmental, health, and safety protocols.
    • Assist in environmental incident investigations and corrective action plans.
    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies as necessary.
    • Support the implementation and continuity of Behavioral Based Safety processes.
    • Act as Emergency Response Coordinator, overseeing emergency services coordination.
    • Promote the integration of EHS Management systems (VPP, ISO, OHSAS).
    • Ensure consistency in safety policies and procedures.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
    • Proficiency in safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC) and EHS system implementation.
    • Experience in safety program development and incident investigations.
    • Knowledge in leading Behavioral Based Safety processes and emergency response coordination.

    • Professional certification is desirable.
