    Duties


    • You will collaborate with internal and external Surface Electronic Warfare (EW) stakeholders to support planning, execution, and data collection plans for land-based and shipboard test events.
    • You will develop, modify, and execute test plans, procedures, and scenarios.
    • You will execute testing using tactical and tactically representative equipment, including scenario generation and data collection/analysis to verify system and sub-system level requirements.
    • You will collaborate with System Design, Tactical Library, and Software Development teams.
    • You will perform tasks within an agile scrum team construct.
    • You will perform analysis to quantify likelihood and severity of system anomalies, issues and limitations.
    • You will communicate test progress and analysis results both verbally and in writing.
    • You will capture/document objective quality evidence to support and communicate test and analysis results

    SERIES:
    This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position

    You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M for framework role 621, level Basic within 12 months of appointment.


    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
    You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
    Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements of the position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist coordinating or conducting design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering of electronic warfare systems or combat/weapon systems

    Education FOR THE General Engineering series: A
    Successful completion of a professional engineering degree
    To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics
    Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position

    Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico

    Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above)
    The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above) OR E
    Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance

    Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g.

    FOR THE Physical Science Series:
    A degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that includes 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics; or, a combination of education and experience in one of the above majors that includes at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education

    FOR THE Physics Series:
    A degree in physics; or related degree that includes at least 24 semester hours in physics; or, a combination of education and experience demonstrated by coursework that is equivalent to a major in physics (at least 24 semester hours), plus appropriate experience or additional education

    FOR THE Operations Research Series:
    A degree in operations research; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics, and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours were in calculus

    FOR THE Mathematics Series:
    A degree in mathematics or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics; or, a combination of education and experience demonstrated by courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics, plus appropriate experience or additional education

    FOR THE Computer Science Series:
    A degree in computer science or degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science
    At least 15 of the 30 semester hours were in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus
