The Department of Physics and Optical Engineering atRose-Hulman Institute of Technology seeks applicants for a full-time visitingAssistant Professor position to support the department, primarily in teachingintroductory physics courses, starting August 2024.
The Department of Physics and Optical Engineering offers a degree in physics, nanoengineering and optical engineering, along with an degree in optical engineering. The department also supports several minorsand certificates, including a semiconductor certificate, astronomy minor, and amaterial science and solid-state physics minor. Some active research programsinclude semiconductors, nanotechnology, and optics.
Requirements include a degree in physics or relateddiscipline. Degree completion by August2024 is acceptable for this position. Essential job functions include teachingand advising students, primarily in the introductory calculus-based physicscourses, both lectures and laboratories. While outstanding teaching is the most significant criterion for successat Rose-Hulman, description of research ideas involving undergraduate studentsis welcome.
