    Description

    COMPANY OVERVIEW:
    Unchained offers a suite of bitcoin financial services built on top of a unique collaborative custody model. These include: buying and selling bitcoin directly to and from cold storage, bitcoin retirement accounts, bitcoin-backed loans, concierge services to educate clients on best security practices, and cold storage solutions for institutions and other businesses.
    POSITION OVERVIEW:
    As the Accounting Manager, you will report to the Controller, and will be responsible for ensuring proper bookkeeping in accordance with financial regulations and reporting requirements. You will be senior accounting leader in the company and responsible for building and developing relationships across the organization in order to collaboratively deliver on your team and the company's objectives. This includes areas such as product development, data management, client billing and invoicing, regulatory reporting, and audit management.
    As Accounting Manager, you will support general accounting operations and control our financial transactions. As the organization is growing and our lines of business are increasing, this role will play a critical part in the future success of Unchained.
    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Lead revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes
    • Support the creation of journal entries for payroll transactions
    • Review and analyze financial data and help create reports on financial status
    • Oversee accurate invoicing of clients and support client facing teams seeking collections
    • Create timely and accurate accounting reports to support decision making
    • Provide recommendations to optimize company's accounting systems and implement automations when available
    • Support and consult company's personnel on accounting control procedures
    • Mentor accounting assistants and bookkeepers; help to plan their work and assign tasks
    • Support the preparation of entity level financial close workbooks
    • Participate in department's goal setting activities and month-end and year-end close processes
    • Organize financial statements and budget preparation٫ accurately and timely
    • Support financial, SOC I & II, and tax audits and the preparation of tax returns
    • Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
    • Work together with financial and accounting managers to optimize financial operations
    • Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
    • Oversee 1-2 accounting staff, training of staff and review of staff workpapers


    WHO YOU ARE:

    • You are a self starter and motivated to bring positive energy into the role
    • You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
    • You have 4+ years of related experience
    • You have a Certified Public Accountant designation
    • You are proficient in accounting software (NetSuite experience is required)
    • You have demonstrated ability to automate accounting processes and reporting
    • You have experience with credit products (loans) and SaaS products
    • You have experience meeting regulatory deadlines
    • You have basic knowledge of bitcoin, digital assets and blockchain with a demonstrated passion and commitment to learning more
    • You are comfortable working with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
    • You live in the United States
