    Duties

    The selectee will serve as a Internal Controls Analyst in the Risk Management & Assurance Office. Typical work assignments include:

  • Serve as a technical expert in financial and management internal controls, development, design, and evaluation; provide technical advice and expert analysis on various internal control matters by serving as the primary liaison for agency-wide and interagency internal control working groups.
  • Make decisions and provide recommendations regarding the audit process to provide accurate information during audit reporting; studies and integrates the findings of several audit efforts to define audit targets or develop audit criteria and new approaches for use by stakeholders; and assemble and assess the information gathered, formulate findings and conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Evaluate the agency's risk management assessments relative to continuous risk throughout the agency; collaborate with risk management team members and its stakeholders to develop detailed, analytical risk assessment methodologies, corrective actions to notices of findings and recommendations, and develop quantitative and qualitative test procedures to test the effectiveness of internal controls and evaluate the design of management control systems.
  • Provide CFO management with requested information and explanations of technical reasons for action or policy; communicate with other technical specialists in designated fields to obtain information; provide technical advice including alternative strategies; and communicate recommendations and improvements resulting from ongoing and completed special projects.
