    Description

    A clinical visionary, this senior leader will oversee the assessment, development, and implementation of best practices through research and data analysis, combining current practices and state of the art interventions in the field. Will lead cultural and programmatic change initiatives, develop and/or refine KPI's and outcome measures which drive and sustain services of the highest quality. Advocates on behalf of persons served and assures children's programs are adequately equipped to serve and ensure the safety of those in our care and our devoted staff.

    • Provides clinical direction to the program and ensures effective and efficient clinical processes.
    • Provides supervision and oversight to direct and indirect reports within assigned areas of responsibility:
    • Provides ongoing leadership, advice, training, and guidance to staff regarding the effective development and implementation of ISP and Comprehensive Treatment Plan,Comprehensive Treatment plan, as needed, for persons served;
    • Directs the appropriate distribution of clinical resources across service areas
    • Ensures timeliness of the ISP process, including IDTs and monthly program reports. Ensures the professionalism and completion of all documentation as required;
    • Works with Operations Director to ensure proper staffing in accordance with levels of support, therapeutic needs, Annex A, and program descriptions;
    • Monitors clinical resource availability and makes recommendations to fill unmet needs;
    • Conducts regular staff meetings and attends Program management meetings to promote a constant flow of information, open discussions, knowledge sharing, and to ensure staff are well-informed;
    • Attends Operation management meetings, external conferences, family conferences, etc., to both obtain and share information;
    • Directly manages the ongoing job performance of direct reports; develops and communicates performance goals, completes performance evaluations within established timeframes; provides feedback, develops and takes action on performance improvement plans, and determines and implements disciplinary action as needed;
    • Appropriately delegates work responsibilities;
    • Supports the professional development and career growth of direct reports by identifying and providing ongoing training and certification attainment in accordance with state licensing regulations and any accreditation standards, as applicable within area of responsibility;
    • When applicable, ensures on-call and rotational support to effectively manage a 24 hour/7 day a week program for persons served.
    • Drives organizational clinical initiatives under the guidance of the Chief Clinical Officer.
    • Acts as a primary clinical resource for direct reports and an expert in person-centered planning process and applied behavior analysis, including the assessment of life goals, challenging behaviors, and opportunities for skill acquisition for persons served.
    • Acts as a thought leader in the field. Actively participates in professional development activities including research, teaching, presenting and publishing. Engages with researchers, academia, students and professional organizations. Aligns Bancroft programming with best practices in the field for current and new business development.
    • Mentors and coaches Bancroft's staff in efforts to develop and retain talented clinicians within the service line and with Clinical Leadership across the organization.
    • Provides professional guidance to the organization by serving on the Clinical Executive Group and other committees as needed.
    • In conjunction with the Clinical Team, oversees treatment integrity data collection, identifies training needs of program staff, and ensures that training needs are met as it pertains to the effective implementation of treatment plans, ISP goals, and other clinical programming.
    • Directs and oversees the clinical operations and activities, and consults with Senior Program Director(s) and/or Program Director(s) to ensure a therapeutic environment of each Program site:
    • Follows established Bancroft policies and procedures, and maintains compliance with Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) regulations, Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, Department of Labor (DOL) regulations (if applicable), Department of Human Services regulations (if applicable), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards (if applicable), Department of Education (DOE), and, Department of Children and Families (DCF), and other applicable state/local/federal regulations at all times:
    • Participates in the development and ongoing oversight of the annual financial operating budget, and monitors expenses related to the provision of clinical care. Ensures clinical services operate within the established fiscal budget.
    • Works in conjunction with Admissions and program directors to effectively screen prospective persons served to determine ability of the program to meet individual needs. Provides oversight and ultimately manages all beds across all children's residential programs to ensure the most timely and efficient transitions occur. Facilitates an interdisciplinary collaboration between clinical functions during transitions to and from programs.
    • Willingly and effectively cooperates with Bancroft, Division of Child and Families (DCF), Children's Behavioral Health (CBH) and other licensing or state agencies or local municipalities in any inspections and investigations, upon request.
    • Actively participates in the development and implementation of performance improvement systems and risk management systems for assigned Program sites to ensure quality care. Responsible for the development and monitoring of Outcome Measurement Systems to track quality of life and effectiveness of person-centered planning.
    • Maintains effective verbal and written communications with persons served, parents, guardians, other family members, healthcare personnel, colleagues, own manager and coworkers across Programs and functions, neighbors, surrounding communities, etc. Operates in accordance with the Confirmation of Understanding or Plan of Care for each person served regarding programs and treatment, healthcare, religious and sexual preferences (if applicable), ethnic and cultural support, recreational and socialization activities, physical fitness and healthy living, family visits and involvement, and disagreements and grievances within areas of responsibility.
    • Oversees the overall integrity of individual records and files for persons served within areas of responsibility; i.e., files are complete, accurate, and up-to-date, for timely review by internal and external auditors, insurance companies, etc.
    • Ensures adherence to state-approved emergency procedures and Bancroft-approved Safe and Positive Approaches techniques for each person served in assigned Program sites.
    • Serves as a role model to persons served by projecting a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, courtesy, conduct, confidentiality, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.
    • Performs other related management and oversight duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in assignments.
    • Abides by the Bancroft Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations.
    • Remains current with required training certifications, meets state-regulated licensing and regulatory accreditations, and adheres to mandatory requirements.
    • Maintains a safe and respectful environment, free of abuse, neglect, or exploitation; does not allow weapons, threats, bullying, or intimidation.
    • Reports any violations to the appropriate individual as soon as the incident occurs.
    • Maintains levels of supervision as defined in behavior plans; e.g., Individual Program Plan (IPP), Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP), Individual Education Program (IEP), Individual Service Plan (ISP), Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP), etc., when applicable.

    Education & Experience:

    Post graduate degree and ensuing practice in a specialty field related to the treatment of Autism, plus a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience required. Doctoral level degree or PHD in a related discipline desirable.

    Special Skills:

    Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form required. Effective and proven leadership and management skills required, as well as flexibility and adaptability. Basic math skills required. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, a strong desire to work with neurologically-challenged individuals required, and the ability to implement crisis intervention techniques required. Operative knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel spreadsheets and Google drive preferred. Attainment of CPR, First Aid, Safe and Positive Approaches, and Medication certification within the first 90 days of employment required. Valid driver's license required in incumbent's legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions.
