Description
Executive Urology OfficeGENERAL SUMMARY
Work in collaboration with the physician, practices medicine by performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, interpreting tests, providing education on preventive health care, and prescribing medication as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform comprehensive patient history & physicals.
- Provide and coordinate medical care for assigned patients in the inpatient setting, including establishing diagnoses, formulating and implementing care plans, and follow-up care.
- Screen patients to determine the need for appropriate care.
- Order diagnostic studies and other special tests such as MRI, CT Scans, etc.
- Carry out health promotions, disease prevention activities, and patient education.
- Order or obtain laboratory specimens.
- Order ancillary services including Pharmacy, Social Services, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation therapies, DME, etc.
- Write orders for or prescribe medications.
- Provide education to patients and family members when necessary.
- Document progress notes and summaries in the patient record and write patient orders.
- Consult specialty services as needed for collaborative care.
- Provide outpatient services as assigned, such as presurgical testing.
