    Our client is a Florida property insurance start-up in the early stages of development.

    The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with broad experience in P&C to round out their already impressive leadership team.

    This role will be best suited for a candidate with not only multifaceted P&C insurance experience and a deep understanding of audits and controls, accounting, and financial planning, but who is also ready to challenge the industry norms and get their hands dirty.


    The Chief Financial Officer will prioritize providing detailed and accurate financial reporting, as well as apply their practical knowledge of audit processes and GAAP and STAT accounting methods to best execute their responsibilities.

    Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with billing and systemic flow, accounts payable and receivable, expense management, and investment management.

    In addition to overseeing the company's existing financial strategies, great candidates will also be prepared to think outside the box to help innovate and streamline our client's financial planning and profitability.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the preparation, review, and filing of all financial statements and summaries
    • Managing internal control systems, and building processes and procedures around them
    • Building budget processes, creating budgets and updating them throughout the year
    • Overseeing audits and ensuring Office of Insurance Regulations (OIR) compliance
    • Leading and delegating duties to teams of financial analysts and accountants
    • Accurately recording and communicating financial performance and activities on a quarterly basis
    • Working closely with the CEO and COO to ensure efficient processes and clear communication
    Knowledge & Skills


    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a financial leader or in a relevant role
    • Extensive experience across a wide variety of P&C insurance spheres
    • Basic reinsurance experience, excluding decision-making or reinsurance purchasing
    • Familiarity with Yellow Book audits and its requirements and implementation
    • Knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and corporate financials
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to contribute/collaborate with Sr Leadership on organizational strategy and direction
