- Cleans, stocks, and readies the department for care for patients.

- Performs errands to other areas of the hospital.
- Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
- Performs clinical functions, utilizes sterile technique when necessary, and obtains labs specimens, vital signs, and other tasks as needed.
- Carries out tasks as directed by physicians, nurse director and nursing staff.
- Maintenance of the medical records located on the nursing unit.
- Unit receptionist responsibilities: telephone, visitor assistance, specimen delivery, phone calls, mail distribution.
- Coordinates appointments with Central Scheduling.
- Entry and reconciliation of infusion charges under direction of the nurse
- Responsible for the performance of clerical duties on the nursing unit
- Possesses organizational and planning skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Ability to concentrate and prioritize in distracting environment.
- Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of ordering on Meditech 6.0
- Written and verbal English skills at 12th grade level.
- Knowledge of basic patient care technical procedures.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- AHA BLS certification (may be within 2 weeks of hire).
- MA Certified Nurse Assistant License required.
