Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the NAVY RECRUITING DISTRICT of NRD MINNEAPOLIS. Responsibilities You will serve as an advisor in the daily operation of the Navy Recruiting Processing Station. You will explain work requirements, methods, and procedures. You will monitor the daily processing of scheduled and walk-in applicants.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying personnel policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain personnel records; 2) Researching information in records and databases to respond to inquiries regarding human resources issues; 3) Using automated systems to create and maintain records; and 4) Providing direct customer service to customers in a team-focused environment

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A 40 hour work week is typical for this position. This position is being recruited at the full performance level. Employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis. Work schedule may require change in hours or workdays. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).
