- Oversees the operational and fiscal activities of assigned labs to achieve staffing levels, budgets, business expansion, financial and profitability goals.
- Develops and implements operational strategy in alignment with and in support of Company's overall business strategy.
- Drives the long-range strategic planning process for operations by overseeing and managing all manufacturing operations, including but not limited to: manufacturing itself, production control, inventory control, and potential materials functions such as purchasing and shipping/receiving activities.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to: Finance, Engineering, Marketing, to ensure alignment and synergy across functions.
- Partners with stakeholders to facilitate the outsourcing of manufacturing processes for cost efficiency.
- Defines goals, improves technologies and resolves problems in conjunction with production managers, quality assurance, engineering and marketing/sales teams.
- Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant performance and market presence.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations, and enhance productivity and quality.
- Directs the development and implementation of activities in production divisions and labs to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives.
- Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Directs the execution of business strategies and practices to improve production capability, quality, costs and customer service goals.
- Ensures integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing and budgets as needed. Interfaces with functional organizations and teams and provides direction and/or clarification of project goals.
- Effectively manages division/lab Profit and Loss Statement (P&L), including labor, materials, sales, equipment, etc.
- Analyzes and documents business processes and problems; develops solutions to enhance efficiencies.
- Coordinates and implements solutions from process analysis and general department projects.
- Provides leadership, coaching, direction and career development advice to production management and designated staff. Supervises staff in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Assists staff to address challenges and resolve complex or out of policy operational problems.
- Directs and coordinates promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase market share, and obtain competitive position in industry.
- Communicates with Upper Management and Executives on production operations.
- Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrators outlining policy, program, or operational changes to be implemented.
- Develops lab policies, in accordance with Company policies and procedures, as necessary, and ensures adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures all direct reports understand the performance standards of their department and have a clear understanding of their own individual performance.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
- Minimum fourteen (14) years of experience in dental industry as a dental technician or Certified Dental Technician, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in business development, digital manufacturing and/or lab production operations.
- Bachelor's degree in related area of specialty preferred.
