    About the role
    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

    Electrical Engineering Manager


    to lead our talented team of engineers in the design and development of embedded circuits for educational robot components like motor drivers, sensors, robot controllers, and human interface devices.

    You will play a crucial role in driving innovation, ensuring project success, and fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment.

    What you'll do

    Lead and manage a small team of electrical engineers in the design, development, testing, and implementation of embedded electrical systems.

    Develop and execute strategic electrical engineering plans and project timelines, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., software, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the broader product design.
    Manage and prioritize project resources, including personnel, budget, equipment, and materials.

    Develop and maintain common electrical parts libraries for design software as well as integration into ERP system to ensure accurate production BOMs and component ordering.

    Contributes directly to the design projects.
    Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and methodologies to optimize design processes and product functionality.
    Contribute to product line ecosystem architecture decisions from an electrical system perspective.
    Develop and execute comprehensive design reviews to ensure the functionality, performance, safety, and manufacturability of electrical designs.
    Provide technical leadership and guidance to your team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
    Manage and communicate with external electrical design partners.
    Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor team members to achieve their full potential.
    Maintain a strong understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices in electrical engineering.
    Manage and mentor electrical engineering interns, helping them develop their technical skills and gain valuable industry experience.
    Collaborate with the customer support team to resolve customer's technical issues.
    Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
    Minimum 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
    Electrical design experience with digital circuits, switching regulators, USB, CAN, serial interfaces, basic analog measurement, and DC motor drive.
    Demonstrated experience in embedded software development, including ARM-based microcontrollers and their closely tied software and electrical peripheral interactions.
    Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve project goals on time and within budget.
    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
    Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
    Proficient in industry-standard electrical engineering design tools and software.

    Demonstrated proficiency in electrical circuit validation and troubleshooting, using appropriate test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and data acquisition equipment.

    Nice to have
    2+ years of electrical engineering management experience.
    Strong understanding of brushed and brushless motor control principles and applications.
    Hands-on experience with


    FIRST
    and its robotics programs.
    Experience with overseas PCB manufacturing and factory acceptance testing.
    Experience with Mentor Graphics (Siemens) PADs.
    Electrical design experience with Ethernet, FPGAs, and other high-spec embedded system integration.
