Reports to: Director of Collections and Exhibitions/Chief Registrar

Supervises: Interns and Volunteers, as needed

FSLA Status: Full Time / three-year position

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, some weekend/evenings may be required

Salary: $50,000 annually, with benefits

Position Summary:

The Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) is looking for individuals interested in a three-year fellowship supporting the Art Bridges Foundation's collection loan program and complementary initiatives. This exciting opportunity allows motivated individuals to gain valuable experience in curatorial and museum education in an esteemed art institution.

The fellowship focuses on expanding access to American art throughout the United States and encouraging museums to redefine traditional perceptions of American art. As an Art Bridges Fellow, you will collaborate with various departments and engage in initiatives such as the Aminah Robinson exhibition tour through Art Bridges. The program aims to foster diverse leadership in museums, offering a platform for emerging professionals to work with mentors and establish meaningful career pathways for underrepresented groups in the arts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and preparation of the Aminah Robinson exhibition tour under Art Bridges' support.
Conduct curatorial research for exhibitions, publications, and collections.
Work with different departments to develop engaging programming around exhibitions and the permanent collection.
Contribute to social media content related to exhibitions and the permanent collection.
Provide curatorial support and assist with logistical tasks related to collections.
Assist with photo documentation and database management of the permanent collection.
Undertake any additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

BA or BFA degree in art history, studio art, museum studies, or a related field.
1-2 years' experience in museums or cultural organizations preferred.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
Proficiency in Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch-Up.
Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
