Pedagogical Professionals and Support Staff as School Companions/Participation Assistants (m/f) in Flat Rock, IL

Short description:
Accompany and support children or adolescents with disabilities (e.g. ADHD, autism, developmental delays, etc.) who are not yet able to manage their school day independently. The assistance is tailored to the individual needs and abilities of the students.


Your tasks:
Accompanying students in class, during breaks, at events, and possibly on their way to school
Structuring the school day, supporting organization of the workspace, reviewing and practicing rules
Strengthening personal development through motivation, promoting independence, and enabling conflict resolution
Enhancing social skills by supporting social interactions and explaining behavior/signals of other children
Accompanying "time-outs"
Creating development reports, participating in support plan meetings
