    ESSENTIAL INFORMATION:

    • Pay Considerations – The salary range for the position is $81,196.77 – $131, Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience.
    • Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hour work week), Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm.
    • Environment – Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15* pounds unassisted. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

    THE ROLE:
    Under general direction is responsible for representing the City on all matters heard in, and appealed from, the North Las Vegas Municipal Court, and assisting the Chief Deputy Attorney.

    Qualifications - External

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education and Experience:
    • Juris Doctorate or equivalent (undergraduate degree and LLB) from an accredited law school.
    • Certificate of admission to the State Bar of Nevada at time of application.
    Licenses and Certifications:
    • Must possess a valid state driver's license with the ability to maintain satisfactory motor record and obtain an appropriate Nevada state driver's license within required time frame.

    SELECTION PROCESS:
    • Complete Online Application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City's application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
    • The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
    • Oral Board Interview - (Weighted 100%): Dates to be determined.
    • Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete
    • Selection/Offers - The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
