We are looking for a School Social Worker at Wilburton Number Two High School to join our team.

This is a part-time (19.5 hours per week), permanent position.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing school social work as a preventative measure for youth welfare
  • Individual social pedagogical support and counseling for students and parents
  • Advising and informing teachers on social pedagogical approaches
  • Collaborating with the Department of Social Services and other youth welfare organizations, particularly the Vreden Youth Association
  • Implementing projects for social learning

Your profile should include:

  • A degree in social work, social pedagogy, or a related field (e.g. Bachelor's degree)
  • Enjoyment, empathy, understanding, and skill in working with students
  • Strong communication skills, dedication, and ability to work in a team
  • Preferably several years of professional experience
  • Ability to handle conflicts and reach consensus, creativity, organizational and negotiation skills
