    Here at gpac we are working with a wonderful nonprofit organization that is looking for a

    Senior Staff Accountant

    . Maintain general ledger to ensure financial statements are in accordance with GAAP, process transactions, complete month-end reconciliations, prepare monthly financial reports. Maintain financial procedures and compliance. Also track and identify key business contract renewals and required filings.

    Process Accounts PayableAssign proper accounts and class (identify expense, prepaid, fixed asset accounts for all bills)


    Verify vendor bill is in agreement with contract (i.e., hourly rate or milestone payments for contractor, no invoice beyond term date, etc.)Properly process and account for "emergency" payments outside of Bill.

    Process expense reports and corporate credit cardsAssign proper accounts, classes, and approversValidate expenses are in line with T&E policyUse Expensify to process expense reports and credit cardsFile copy of vendor contract in permanent filesInvestigate vendor payments, expense report payments, credit card payments as necessary; contact vendors and resolve any billing issuesProcess Accounts ReceivableSet up new accounts receivable and validate information with executed contractVerify amounts, terms, other relevant terms with fully executed contractReconcile all balance sheet accounts at month-end including:
    Cash – reconcile within QuickBooks. All cash accounts including Checking, Money Market, Savings, and InvestmentsAccounts Receivable – generate A/R Aging within Quickbooks. Prepaid expenses and other current assets– verify expenditure is properly classified as prepaid.


    Include all pertinent details:
    vendor, term and expense account. Fixed assets – verify expenditure is properly classified as a fixed asset per the capitalization policy.

    Record depreciation in accordance with the capitalization policyDeposits and other long term assets – ensure expenditures are correctly classified as long termAccounts payable - generate A/P Aging within QuickBooks.

    Financial StatementsPrepare monthly financial reports including variance analysisQualifications/Experience Required:


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated experience and aptitude in the essential job functions documented above.

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance requiredSeven years of experience in accounting, preferably within a nonprofit organizationProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Quickbooks, Bill.

    Proven ability to handle multiple projectsProfessional written and spoken English.

    Although this is a partially remote work-from-home position, candidates must be located within commuting distance of San Francisco (≤ 50Mi.) and willing to work out of our San Francisco, CA office (Financial District, 1 block from BART) as needed, and up to several times per week, for specific duties.
