Quantum Leap healthcare is currently seeking an Controller to join the Finance and Accounting Team.

We are looking for Controller with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in clinical trial contracts accounting, revenue recognition, fund accounting, cost base accounting, and cost analytics.

This individual will be responsible for the accounting transactions of all clinical trial contracts with pharma partners, clinical site partners, and government contracts.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance and Administration, this role will lead the financial close, reconciliation, and reporting on clinical activity. Responsible for pharma contract and government contract financial transactions, contract billing and analysis, cost accounting and fund accounting. This individual will lead the effort to accumulate the accounting reports and analytics for the Sr. Director of Finances review. Working closely with the Sr.

Director of Finance and Administration, the Controller will take part in the close review, financial reporting, and forecasting for Quantum Leap Healthcare Funds, Departments, and Consolidations.


General objectives:


  • Manage accountings staff in the preparation of the general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification.
  • Prepare payroll timely and accurately and submit to the Director of Finance for review and approval.
  • Maintain the management, GASB, and GAAP books. Manage the consolidation process and reconciliation
  • Work with the accounting staff to maintain the revenue recognition schedules and ensure timely billing and collection.
  • Maintain investment schedules and record investment activity. Forecast investment revenue.
  • Maintain and reconcile fund balance schedules related to the government, pharma, and clinical site contracts.
  • Review all subledger transitions to ensure correct coding and allocations; perform first level approval of transactions.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with the monthly budget to actual spend and prepare monthly analysis report.
  • Prepare the net asset accounts and prepare monthly restriction release analysis. Prepare the cost allocation reporting for government compliance packets.
  • Prepare and post monthly labor allocation report and payroll reconciliations.
  • Comply with reporting and accounting standards. Research and understand new FASB, GASB, and other compliance requirements.
  • Assists with preparation of various Board and Executive financial reports.
  • Assists with cash management and cash forecast.
  • Prepare special financial reports as requested by the Director of Finance and Administration.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Finance and Administration, manage the audit open items and deliverables. Manage accountings staff in the preparation of the Audit Workpapers. Administer all meetings with auditors and the Director of Finance during fieldwork to ensure the final audit is completed on time
  • Manage clinical KPI dashboards; report out variances between plan, forecast, and actual.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with forecast, analytics, and budget.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with the development of policy and procedures related to financial controls.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Min Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus.
  • Min 5 years of full cycle accounting experience
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills including presentation and analytical skills.
  • Works independently with little need for daily management to meet deadlines or objectives.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Accurate, detailed, and deadline driven.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, goals, and priorities. Experience in a high growth environment.
  • Is highly comfortable using accounting, clinical reporting, contract management, and subledger software. Advanced use of Excel required. Intermediate working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word required.
  • Understanding of clinical KPI's, clinical financial drivers, and clinical financial analytics.
  • Intuitive knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures. Understand FASB codifications, GASB, and US GAAP required. Not for profit and fund accounting knowledge helpful but not required.
