Duties:


  • Supervisor issues instructions on work sequences, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies on the incumbent to assure that other members of the group carry out work assignments.
  • Supervisor is available to provide information or decisions regarding problems that may arise during work.
  • Serves as a banquet captain and working leader of 3 or more servers in accomplishing trades and labor work.
  • As banquet captain, incumbent reviews the banquet event ordering requirements between the customer and the hotel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


Conditions of Employment:


  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all preemployment checks in accordance with AR 2153, para.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift, carry and balance food, beverage and banqueting items weighing 10 lbs.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Must be available for rotating shifts, daytime, nights and weekends.
  • A preemployment physical is required.

Qualifications:


  • Six months experience in banqueting. Must be friendly and outgoing. Must work quickly and efficiently in order to serve guests.

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

FWS Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular fulltime, regular parttime (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled nonovertime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled nonovertime hours of work occur between the hours of

  • Incentives will not be paid.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Nonforeign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
