- Supervises maintenance shop staff in all facets on multiple shifts.
- Interviews and trains new hires.
- Coaches, counsels and administers discipline.
- Assists in setting shop goals for maintenance and safety programs.
- Oversees the management of parts, tires and supply inventories.
- Instructs technicians in the proper use of diagnostic tools and computer software to assist in troubleshooting all types of equipment.
- Ensures technicians are employing proper preventative maintenance and repair practices on equipment in a timely fashion.
- Works to maximize productivity amongst his/her group of technicians.
- Manages proper work flow of approvals and payment processing for both internal and external orders.
- Recognizes expense trends and implements cost saving opportunities.
- Coordinates regularly with other personnel at the terminal to maximize equipment availability.
- 5+ years of equipment maintenance experience
- 2+ years of maintenance supervisory experience
- Factory training and certification in engine diagnostic software
- Training in Eaton, Spicer & Meritor transmissions & rear end rebuilding
- Training in repair of Wabco/Meritor antilock brake systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AS400 and TMW software packages
