As a Maintenance Shop Supervisor you will use your supervisory and mechanical expertise to instruct technicians in proper diagnosis of failures and correct repair practices.
Additional responsibilities:
Supervises maintenance shop staff on multiple shifts.
Interviews new hires.
Coaches, counsels and administers discipline.
Planning and goal setting in preventative maintenance programs.
Responsible for maintaining local parts, maintenance supplies and tire inventories.
Instructs mechanics in proper diagnosis of failures and correct repair practices.
Maintains a region's fleet of trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
Performs inspections services, and repairs on diesel powered equipment.
Uses electronic diagnostic tools and computer software to assist in the troubleshooting and repair of heavy duty trucks, engine, braking, electrical, cooling and exhaust systems.
Preferred QualificationsMinimum 3 years of maintenance experienceFactory training and certification in engine diagnostic softwareTraining in Eaton, Spicer and Meritor transmissions and rear end rebuildingTraining in repair of Wabco/Meritor antilock brake systemsSupervisory experienceKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeBenefitsAt Saia, your success is our success That's why we work hard to provide you with what you need to build an awesome career.
