    Job DescriptionPosition Description:
    The Senior Systems Engineer III (VMware) is responsible for managing and optimizing the department's virtualized infrastructure, primarily based on VMware technologies. This role requires advanced expertise in VMware virtualization solutions to design, deploy, and maintain efficient and secure virtual environments. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation, configuration, and administration of VMware infrastructure, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization. The Senior Systems Engineer also ensures that virtualized systems comply with stringent DoD security standards, including managing updates, patches, and security configurations. This position involves troubleshooting complex virtualization issues, providing technical leadership, and guiding the development and implementation of best practices for virtual infrastructure management. The engineer collaborates with other IT professionals to integrate virtualized systems with other technologies and support mission-critical operations.

    Requires Security Clearance: TS/SCI position. Personnel must possess a final DoD-granted TS with SCI eligibility.

    Certification: CSSP or CASP

    Education: High School diploma/GED

    Experience:
    • Minimum of ten years of directly related experience providing solutions to a wide range of technical and computer engineering requirements in a Standard Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliant VMware-based enterprise level (in support of at least 3000 users) environment.
      1. This experience must have been performed within the last five years.
    • Demonstrated experience with technical and engineering support toward the design, development, installation, test, and operation of VMware-based infrastructure and services in a large enterprise environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in enterprise backup and recovery implementation and support.
    • Demonstrated experience in Cloud (AWS/Azure), VMware vSphere and/or enterprise storage systems
