The area of responsibility includes, among others:

The open positions are thematically related to secure, intelligent, energy-efficient, and sustainable communication and cloud technologies for smart city applications.


Positions are offered in the following areas:

  • 5G / 6G Campus Networks, Private Mobile Networks, Nonpublic Networks (NPN)
  • Cellular VehicletoX Communications (C-V2X) for Connected Mobility
  • 5G / 6G Open RAN / O-RAN Network Security (SecuritybyDesign)
Each of these topics represents its own area and the following basic tasks are required:

  • Conducting research in the respective field. This includes, among other things, researching new concepts, methods, models, algorithms, and possibly protocols and architectures.
  • Design, planning, and possibly conducting experiments to evaluate the performance of one's own approaches in real scenarios.
  • Collaboration with other researchers and engineers to develop and test new technologies and applications.
  • Publication of research results in highquality conferences and journals.
  • Supervision of students.

Necessary qualifications:


  • Aboveaverage university degree (Master's or Diploma) in engineering or related fields.
  • Relevant fields of study for the university degree or doctorate: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Business Informatics.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team in a goal and solutionoriented manner.
  • Interest in practical, interdisciplinary collaboration with cooperation partners from science, industry (large companies
