- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to provide prehensive support.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Utilize assistive technologies and other resources to enhance learning opportunities for students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in DHH education.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
- Valid Illinois state teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with students with hearing impairments, preferably in a school setting.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable.
- Strong munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- A mitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
