***: Responsible for work involving all facets of security operations, emergency response and related activities.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITY:


  • Patrols the site for the purpose of preventing and discovering the commission of a crime, directs traffic, enforces reserved parking regulations, checks for fires, water leaks, flooding, light deficiencies, or any other irregularities and takes appropriate action.
  • Answers calls and complaints involving a wide variety of emergency services such as fire alarms, smoke detectors, accidents, theft and assistance to residents and staff.
  • Responds to emergency calls for residents in person to conduct triage.
  • Evaluate based on EMT criteria if resident needs inhouse nursing care or if resident should go to hospital.
  • Uses other EMT judgement in resident care as needed.
  • Secures the scene of accidents, contacts nurse on duty for aid when necessary.
  • Conducts preliminary investigations, gathers information, documents, and reports.
  • Turns on lights, closes windows, closes, and locks doors.
  • Determines that no unauthorized property is removed from the premises.
  • Gives advice and general information to the residents.
  • Basic knowledge of methods, materials and equipment related to principles involved in the operation of security enforcement and crime prevention
  • Basic knowledge of the function of a life care retirement facility.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • EMT Certification
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • High school graduate and/or GED
  • Full command of the English language
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a securityrelated field

PHYSICAL DEMAND:


  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for 8 or more hours.
