***: The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for the development and implantation of a comprehensive program of individual and group activities that are both recreational and therapeutic to meet the physical, emotional, social, recreational, and spiritual needs of residents in Independent Living, Sackton Assisted Living and Weyrich Health Care Center.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Asses each resident upon admission to determine recreational interests, abilities, needs and develop and implement individualized activity programs for each resident in Assisted Living and Weyrich Assisted Living.
  • Supervise activity assistants, interviewing and hiring, instruction, monitoring and evaluating performance.
  • Maintain departmental statistics and reporting systems in an accurate manner. Prepare and monitor activity budget.
  • Attend committee meetings as required. Develop and maintain good rapport with outside agencies, and organizations and volunteers to foster effective activities program.
  • Develop monthly activities calendars based on assessments and interests of residents.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise field trips to various community and cultural places in the Valley.
  • Produce Weekly Flyers, Monthly Newsletter, entertainment, and Calendars.
  • Call residents and vendors as needed with a professional approach.
  • Assist residents with scheduling transportation and purchasing event tickets or craft projects.
  • Encourage resident participation in restorative care activities. Encourage individual hobbies, activities, etc.
  • Include family and community participation in activities programs whenever possible.
  • Conduct weekly informational meetings, inservices, and/or training with staff.
  • Supervises volunteers as appropriate.
  • Display monthly activity calendars: Post information, create fliers, and notify staff with changes to calendar or upcoming activities as needed.
  • Decorate and create bulletin boards to reflect holidays, seasons, or activity themes.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Schools, Day Cares Centers, Churches, Entertainers and Families.
  • Follow safe practices in all areas of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in a Senior Living setting or Leadership experience.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the needs of the elderly and have an empathetic approach to illness.
  • Must have a willingness and an aptitude for working with a variety of people.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of a variety of activities and exhibit a spirit of cooperation and have a pleasant, friendly personality.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:


  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, up to 25 pounds.
  • Stand, walk or sit for prolonged periods.
