This is an incredible opportunity for someone to be trained to make a difference and be part of an important part of Hampton Lumber.
This role will provide logistical coordination of transporting our lumber by rail to our customers national destinations.This position has the opportunity to interact with not only a broad base of the companys employees, but also with the companys external vendors and customers by providing excellent problem solving expertise proactively.

originsAccrue freight payables on rail transactions for appropriate rail carriersOversee and address all delayed and late rail shipmentsPrimary lead for internal and external trace requests and general customer service inquiriesProcess reconsignment and diversion requestsProvide weekly summary of pending sales orders from key U.S.
shipping originsTrace private car fleet weekly and escalate concerns of damaged or delayed equipmentMaintain quarterly performance report of class-one rail carriersKeep accurate inventory records of railroad supplied equipmentHandle freight claims and investigation of damaged or vandalized shipmentsUtilize Docuware for accurate record retentionBecome cross-trained on other duties within the department to help as neededQualifications Strong attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills, a high degree of accuracy and efficiencyAbility to think logically and analytically, under quick timelines to meet the needs of the organizationDedication to internal & external customer service, with excellent communication skillsCapacity to work independently, amid a fast-paced team environment with a high level of multi-taskingBe self-motivated with a genuine interest in continuing to learn the business and Hampton cultureMaintain high personal and professional standards of focus, attention, and dedication to workTeam player willing to take on growth opportunities and provide departmental back-up as necessaryEducation & Training:High School Diploma required.
