    Full TimeLocation: Irvine, CaliforniaCompensation: $100,000 - $150,000 / yearDescriptionTurion Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA.

    As a Mechanical engineer, you will work closely with the Turion Space team to assist in the design, analysis, and manufacturing of our DROID vehicles and different subsystems.

    Key ResponsibilitiesDesign metallic structures and propulsion fluid systems under accelerated timelinesReview specifications and other engineering data to develop mechanical systemsUpdate designs and drawings through engineering change orders to support our rapid pace of design iterationCreate detailed component and assembly drawings incorporating an understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-upsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline5+ years of mechanical design and drafting experienceExperience with 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)Solid understanding and application of GD&T and tolerance stack-upsSpacecraft design experienceMust be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.

    Preferred Skills and ExperienceHands-on experience working on teams designing hardware in a highly constrained system under defined timelinesFamiliarity with welded structures and fluid systemsAbility to manage large assembly models and drawingsAbility to work and communicate well with minimal supervisionCreative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together to achieve buy-in for a unified design directionSelf-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organizational, communication, and documentation skills
