    JThe Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people.

    DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

    Through effective planning, purchasing and oversight, DCH provides access to affordable, quality health care to millions of Georgians, including some of the state's most vulnerable and under-served populations.

    Six enterprise offices support the work of the agency's three program divisions. DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state.

    Job Responsibilities The Board of Pharmacy is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Business Support Analyst role.


    The key responsibilities include:

    • Receives and processes rule waiver and rule variance petitions.
    • Acts as administrative secretary to the Georgia Board of Dentistry and the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
    • Assembles and posts notices of meetings and public hearings.
    • Assembles and posts board and committee meeting agendas.
    • Takes detailed notes during meetings of the boards and their committees and drafts meeting minutes.
    • Responsible for composing and sending responses from the boards to petitioners and correspondents.
    • Acts as a point of contact, in addition to the Executive Director, for members of the boards and of the general public.
    • Prepares documentation related to board member per diem and travel expenses for attendance to board meetings.
    • After meetings of the boards, prepares a report of actions taken by the board for board staff.
    • In assistance to the Executive Director, facilitates the onboarding process for new board members.
    • Maintains public board resources lists.
    • Maintains the docket of the board's decisions and orders.
    • Assists the Legal Services Officer in performance of general research of legal, policy and environmental issues.
    • Drafts standardized letters and notices related to the boards' administrative legal procedures.
    • Assists the Legal Services Officer in responding to general legal inquiries received by the boards.
    • Provides administrative support to the Legal Services Officer and to the Investigative Committee of the Georgia Board of Dentistry.
    • Works in conjunction with the Executive Director and the Department of Community Health press office, to address media inquiries.
    • Under the direction of the Legal Services Officer, responds to all open records requests.
    • Provides administrative support for the rule promulgation process.

    Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in communication, English, or public relations from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment.

    Ability to coordinate tasks and appointments with internal and external parties.
    Ability to organize documents, forms, and data.
    Ability to understand governmental organizations and operations.
    Strong data entry and typing skills.
    Case management skills.
