Sovereign Insurance Group is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk add to our team This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and will assist in the day-to-day operations of our company.

Responsibilities:


  • Process payment receipts and bank deposits in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable by reviewing invoices and obtaining proper approvals before processing payments.
  • Reconcile company Direct Bill commission statements to ensure accurate payments are received.
  • Monitor the Accounts Receivable aging report and follow up with customers to collect on delinquent accounts.
  • Responsible for mailing invoices and statements to customers and ensuring all customer information is up to date.
  • Perform light clerical duties such as filing and providing backup to manage company inbox.
  • Assist with License compliance by ensuring all necessary licenses and certifications are up to date and properly recorded.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller to support the accounting team and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping and/or accounting assistant experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills to accurately record financial transactions and reconcile accounts.
  • Good problemsolving and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and detailoriented to maintain accurate financial records and files.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
