Description
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team based at Ft. Belvoir, VA. This position requires selected individual to function in afull-time on-site capacity
. Specific duties include hands on systems administration for our client's Microsoft infrastructure and core Microsoft business solutions, virtual environments built on Microsoft operating systems using JBOSS application servers, and troubleshooting and maintenance of network and system services.
These environments include, but are not limited to:
Active Directory, GPO management, Server 2012/2016, Microsoft SQL Server. Compensation will be based on relevant qualifications and experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform system administration for Windows computing environment under the direction of the Program Technical Lead, using diagnostic and application software.
Support the installation, configuration, and patching of Windows Servers
Maintain operating systems and relevant technology STIGs
Troubleshoot and resolve, software, user access issues and component configuration.
Provide support for creating and managing core Microsoft network services including GPO, DNS. Work as team member with other technical staff, to ensure connectivity, security, and compatibility between systems.
Write and maintain system documentation.
Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
Provide Active Directory support giving user access rights and security, maintain Active Directory objects, and implements structural modifications to Active Directory
Document system problems and resolutions for future reference.
Provide after hours support for critical systems as needed.
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
Knowledge and skills in current generation operating systems, software virtualization; server protocols, administration, and security Inter/Intranet applications, and office software
Familiarity of Information Assurance (IA) compliance requirements, processes, tools, and software, to include STIG's
Problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
3+ years of relevant work experience
Professional IT Certifications, such as:
MCSA or MCSE, Security+, CISSP DoD 8140/ M IAT Level II certification
TS/SCI Eligible, minimum active Secret
Ability to work both independently and under direct supervision or guidance, have mastered time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and schedules, including setting priorities, establishing effective relationships, and being attentive to detail.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED
Working knowledge of Splunk, McAfee HBSS tools
Working knowledge of DISA cyber security requirements

Army specific environment experience
