    Zynga With Friends - Principal Software Engineer Position

    Engineers at Games With Friends (GWF) run one of the largest game deployments globally. Join us in tackling massive scalability challenges and discovering innovative solutions.

    Role

    • Backend Engineer with experience in object-oriented programming including Ruby/Rails, Java, Golang, or C#

    Main Responsibilities

    • Design and architect new backend applications/services running in AWS
    • Document tech plans for new architecture/system designs
    • Take a hands-on approach in writing and reviewing code
    • Identify and recommend improvements to address systemic pain points and tech debt
    • Collaborate across teams to propose technical solutions for product/customer requirements
    • Provide production & integration support for shared technology across Zynga games
    • Experience with LiveOps and incident handling situations
    • Build/maintain CI/CD pipelines
    • Write highly scalable systems and work with databases (SQL and NoSQL)
    • Deep understanding of algorithms, design patterns, debugging, security, and performance optimization

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • BS in Computer Science or Engineering with 8+ years of development experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with senior leadership
    • Experience in provisioning/maintaining infrastructure and container orchestration platforms
    • Prior Game Development Experience
    • Knowledge of distributed systems and frontend development
    • Skills in Object-Oriented programming languages and database technologies
