    Description

    Looking for a Senior IT Project Manager with extensive and Hands on Big Data and Data warehousing experience Client is looking for a Big Data/Data Warehousing consultant who has transitioned into Project Management

    Location: Reston VA (Candidates MUST be LOCAL to the DMV area)
    Shift: 1 Day onsite every week (This is a hard requirement)

    • This position is open in data intelligence programs for the client. Needs to have strong Data BG/exp.
    • Needs 10+ years of IT exp with at least 5 years in project mgmt with at least 3 years managing projects based around data analytics, data modeling, data migration, data products, data warehousing, big data, cloudera, etc... Data Exchange and Data Products areas are required.
    • Must have exp managing data projects or a strong BG in data and then moved into project mgmt for the last 5 years.
    • Moving towards scaled agile but right now mostly in waterfall. Projects are agile but waterfall at enterprise level.
    • Needs Jira and Visio skills
    • Needs to have strong budget mgmt exp million on average). Target is at least 2% margin for projects. Forecasting, resource planning and financial on on-going basis
    • 100% matrix environment so needs that exp.
    • Healthcare exp is a plus but not required
    • Must have PMP or CSM
    • New projects coming on in 2024 so they got the budget to hire more PMs to manage the work
    PURPOSE:
    Sr. IT Project Manager, leads, plans, executes, monitors, controls and closes projects for the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). This role oversees and directs complex $5M+ enterprise-wide corporate initiatives involving stakeholder groups across several organizational work streams utilizing Agile methodology to deliver results.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    25% Actively plans and manages large scale Waterfall or Agile projects holistically around scheduled program increments and milestones, scope, cost, resource health and risks while collaborating with stakeholders in key meetings resulting in successful project delivery.

    25% Plans and owns project finances which includes timing implications and key payment dates while proactively reporting status, scorecard creation and fulfilling project analysis requests by using critical and creative thinking.

    25% Leads and contributes to vendor selection and procurement activities under program manager guidance while identifying, producing and fulfilling resource and go-live operational plans to insure project success.

    25% Prepares key documents, present business cases and produces other reports as needed while collaborating with stakeholders to bring projects through project funding conversations and initiation ceremonies

    Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

    Education Details: Health Informatics, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline

    Experience: 10+ years of IT experience with minimum of 5+ years of hands-on Project Management experience with at least 3 years in Data warehouse, big data (Cloudera or AWS, etc), Business Intelligence (MicroStrategy or Tableau or Cognos or Business Objects, etc), or Analytics projects.

    In Lieu of Education
    In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hands on experience on Agile practices, Scrum process, Kanban, and waterfall methodology.

    • Bachelors degree in computer science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience is required

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is a must.

    • Excellent knowledge of Jira, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and MS Visio.

    • Strong Financial Management ability including comprehension of project financials, profit and loss and the ability to create and manage and adhere to a broader project budget. , Advanced

    • Strong Communication skills both written and verbal, Advanced

    • Ability to successfully lead in a matrixed environment, Advanced

    • Strong customer skills with internal and external customers.

    • Release Management Skills.

    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

    • Experience with Data Modeling, Data Analysis, Data Migration.

    • Candidate must be adaptable and nimble in their approach.

    • Must be able to perform assigned tasks with minimum supervision.

    • Healthcare experience is a plus.
