What does this job involve?

Technical system designers in the field of electrical systems create drawings and technical documents for building and system engineering facilities as well as electrical installations. They usually work on the computer with CAD systems. Based on specifications and customer requirements, they create designs and detailed plans as well as circuit, wiring and cabling plans. They also follow the relevant drawing standards and include appropriate dimensions for production. In addition, they create work instructions, operating manuals, assembly plans and parts lists for installation.

Where do they work?

Technical system designers in the field of electrical systems mainly work in engineering and architecture offices. They primarily carry out their work on the computer in the office. Occasionally, a visit to construction sites may be necessary.
